Calixa Lavallée (1842-1891): O Canada
Composed in 1880, O Canada is the Canadian national anthem since 1980, when replaced God Save the Queen, which in turn remains the royal anthem of Canada.
The incipit of this song has a strong similarity to Mozart’s March of the Priests, from the opera The Magic Flute.
