[José Melchor Gomís (1791-1836)]: Himno de Riego.
Spanish National Anthem in 1822-23 and during the First and Second Spanish Republic. Probably written by José Gomís, the Anthem of Riego is considered as the Spanish Republican Anthem. From the musical point of view, more than a military march, it is a Contra dance. The following transcription wants to highlight this feature, emphasizing the folkloric roots of the melody.
