Greensleeves (What Child is This?)

Anonymous: Greensleeves

Traditional English folk song and tune, composed over a ground of the form called a romanesca in the second half of the XVI century.

The Christmas carol What Child is This?, with lyrics written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix, is set to this traditional tune.

Transcription for recorder and guitar by Massimo Pennesi. This interactive score was published first in the post Greensleeves, in the blog educacionmusical.es.
