Hymn to Freedom

Oscar Peterson (1925-2007): Hymn to Freedom

One of the most famous works by this Canadian jazz pianist. With the lyrics by Harriette Hamilton (karaoke on this video), this song became the hymn of the African-American Civil Rights Movement.

Take special care that the higher notes are not shouted and syncopations are well articulated

.

Transcription for recorder and piano by Massimo Pennesi. This interactive score was published first in the post Hymn to Freedom, in the blog educacionmusical.es.
